Janelle Brokenshire-Cyr has been in the field of physical therapy for 28 years. She has experience in a variety of physical therapy settings including sports medicine, orthopedics, home care, acute adult and pediatric hospitals, neurological rehab, early intervention, California Children's Services (CCS) and hippotherapy. Her passion is dedicated to the pediatric population and the equine connection.
Janelle is certified in Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT) for pediatrics. She has advanced training in Kinesio taping, Cranio sacral therapy and myofascial release. She is a member of the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA), Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) - formally North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
Janelle is the former program director of National Center for Equine Assisted therapy (NCEFT) with extensive experience utilizing the horse's movement as a treatment strategy for a wide variety of patient and diagnosis. She has assisted in AHA approved courses as well as designed and conducted an introduction to hippo therapy course in Mexico City.
Janelle has been active in the equine world for 40 years training, showing horses in hunter jumper competition as well as western pleasure. She has owned horses all her life.
